Job Descritpion of Data modelling Consultant
6 to 8 Years Relevant Experience
- Strong proficiency in data modeling concepts, including entities, relationships, normalization, and master/reference entities.
- Knowledge of the Pharma domain (Clinical, Medical, Regulatory) is preferred.
- Experience in the development and maintenance of logical data models, and transforming them into physical database designs for staging areas, data warehouses, and data marts.
- Ability to create DDL for database objects and migration scripts to load data into new structures when required, including mapping source to target databases and documenting transformation rules.
- Extensive experience in logical and physical relational data modeling using tools like Erwin.
- Proficiency in business process modeling and logical data models.
- Strong communication skills with a history of interacting with business SMEs and architects.
- Experience using data modeling tools such as ERWIN and ER Studio for building information models.
- Understanding of data requirements within audit and control frameworks.
- Nice-to-have: Knowledge of ER Studio, life sciences domain knowledge, and previous experience in roles like DBA.
- Identify the necessary business processes, systems, and data to address business problems effectively.
- Support data governance by mapping out the data flow across the value chain, ensuring key stakeholders, including data producers and consumers, are easily identifiable.
- Propose business rules based on the outcomes of data analysis to enhance decision-making.
- Identify and define the business concepts (entities), their formats, and the relationships between concepts, and represent them in both Conceptual and Logical Models.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define data elements, create controlled vocabularies, and ensure alignment with external standards.
