Job Descritpion of Sybase Architect
6 to 8 Years Relevant Experience
- Strong knowledge in Sybase ASE architecture concepts.
- Working knowledge of Installation, configuration, upgrades & EBF patching.
- Should have experience in production database support.
- Backup and recovery methods, including point in time recovery.
- Knowledge on backup, JS Agent, Cron-Jobs.
- Experience on performance tuning and troubleshooting, memory management & analysis of issues.
- Knowledge of dbcc (consistency checks), Reorg, EWA report analysis.
- Ability to troubleshoot Sybase faults / errors Knowledge of Sybase Replication server, Sybase IQ.
- Experience on maintenance activities like reorg, update statistics etc.
- Memory management: ASE DB memory configuration, TEMP DB memory full issues, Log Segment and Default segment extensions.
- User management: Creating roles, users, privileges, password management.
- Knowledge of ASE 15.x and ASE 16Troubleshooting knowledge on deadlocks, blockage, Cache issues, R3Trans issues, log segment issues.
- Basic knowledge on Linux environment.
